There are reports that the prime minister is furious with the finance minister over his handling of the RESP bill. He has known for over 2 years that this bill was working its way through parliament . This is the same finance minister who left the Ontario government with a 4 billion plus deficit. Same mindset, head in the sand, and full steam ahead.

The Tax-Free Savings Account, that was authored by the right wing C.D.Howe Institute , and was included in the federal budget has several flaws. With 40 % of Canadians not paying their credit cards in full each month, and are paying anywhere from 19% to 28.8 % on their outstanding balance, this plan is clearly not for them. If they open up a TFSA account before paying off their credit card balance, they will be in a worse financial position, not better. This is a plan for very wealthy Canadians to shelter capital gains and stock market profits.

Steve " Huff and Puff " Madely and Larry the Mayor Guy are championing the latest transit plan. If they hadn't killed last years plan, they would have already started construction and could have been included in the latest proposal for transit. I wonder if either one of them will take any responsibility for the increased cost to the taxpayers of Ottawa.

· DID YOU KNOW ? In the United States, each new congress is sworn in a few weeks before the presidential inauguration. The old president, in this case George W. Bush becomes a lame duck . Some Democrats are thinking about a quickie impeachment of George Bush for high crimes and misdemeanors. The only drawback is Dick Cheney would be president for a couple of days !
